Our aim at FIU’s Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center is to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of our students campus-wide, alumni and the community at large by providing the tools and building networks to make your vision (whether an idea or existing venture) a success.

Our Center will support you as you embark on your journey through the entrepreneurial ecosystem: LEARN through our educational and outreach programs, CONNECT with experienced entrepreneurs and professionals and apply the opportunities we offer to EVOLVE through this process.

About the Conference

The Americas Venture Capital Conference (AVCC) provides a unique forum for innovative enterprises to showcase their ventures and to network with established firms seeking alliances, as well as potential investors. Now in its fourth year, Florida International University’s Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center will host the AVCC: Healthcare Innovation and Venture Capital on December 11th and 12th, 2013 in Miami, Florida.

The conference will spotlight new ventures in Florida and the Americas (including early and mid-stage companies and a student track) in the healthcare sector, from products and processes to service delivery and new business models. With new policies such as the Affordable Care Act and daunting challenges and boundless opportunities throughout the Americas, the agenda will offer all those connected with healthcare the opportunity to exchange ideas and get a first look at solutions and investment options. Additionally, companies can apply to be selected to pitch before investor groups at the conference.

Interactive presentations, concurrent panel sessions, and a student showcase will facilitate learning, sharing, networking and deal-making. In addition to distinguished keynote speakers, AVCC 2013 will address mobile health, big data, innovative technologies and services, accountable care organizations, health supply chain management, and best practices from universities in commercializing health technologies.
